Peaks & Prairies, LLC was on hand to watch governor Brian Schweitzer hand out the first 5 gallon container of biodiesel at the annual Farmer’s Union convention in Great Falls, MT. The biodiesel production demonstration used Peaks & Prairies high oleic canola oil as the primary ingredient for the fuel. The company donated 250 gallons of canola oil for the demonstration which helped highlight alternative fuels and the ability of Montana’s agricultural community to provide new sources of energy. Governor Schweitzer stated “products like these help reduce our dependency on foreign oil and create opportunities for rural Montana”. The demonstration provided attendees of the convention with 100 free 5 gallon fuel containers of Montana biodiesel. This was a great opportunity for Peaks & Prairies to highlight the quality products we manufacture and the ability of Montana’s agriculture to provide numerous biobased alternatives to fossil fuels according to Tony Kavanagh, General Manager.
