Peaks & Prairies, LLC a Montana based company, has been the premier developer and manufacturer of state of the art biobased oils and lubricants since early 2000. With our crushing and manufacturing facility located in the heart of Montana’s agriculture production in Malta, Montana we work directly with the growers to maintain the quality and supply of our oil seeds. Our facilities crush, blend and manufacture the oils and lubricants for each specific industry application using our exclusive formulations.
Extensive research and testing continues at Peaks & Prairies, LLC in our effort to provide the highest quality oils and lubricants for the marketplace. We are proud of our continued involvement and research with Montana State University in particular The Institute for Biobased Products and the Montana Agriculture Experiment Station. Our research in conjunction with MSU, USDA and national private labs has developed biobased oils and lubricants with performance characteristics superior to most synthetics. At the same time the majority of our product line remains 90% or greater biodegradable after use.

Peaks and Prairies, LLC announces the availability of our new biobased aerosol lubricant AG-40. This all purpose lubricant provides protection for your farm and industrial equipment as well performing all the lubrication tasks around the home. Our lubricant is biodegradable and is safe to use for most all applications. AG-40 is available in convenient 12 ounce cans and is packaged in 12 can cases. Peaks & Prairies, LLC provides high oleic canola oil for biodiesel demonstration. 10/21/05
Peaks & Prairies, LLC was on hand to watch governor Brian Schweitzer hand out the first 5 gallon container of biodiesel at the annual Farmer’s Union convention in Great Falls, MT. The biodiesel production demonstration used Peaks & Prairies high oleic canola oil as the primary ingredient for the fuel. The company donated 250 gallons of canola oil for the demonstration which helped highlight alternative fuels and the ability of Montana’s agricultural community to provide new sources of energy. Governor Schweitzer stated “products like these help reduce our dependency on foreign oil and create opportunities for rural Montana”. The demonstration provided attendees of the convention with 100 free 5 gallon fuel containers of Montana biodiesel.
This was a great opportunity for Peaks & Prairies to highlight the quality products we manufacture and the ability of Montana’s agriculture to provide numerous biobased alternatives to fossil fuels according to Tony Kavanagh, General Manager.
